Dear Board of Trustees,

In my opinion bring your own device (BYOD) at Nelson Central School (NCS) is just not me. Devices should not be at school. BYOD is a letting people if they want to bring their IPAD’s, Tablets, Laptops and IPOD touches to school or some where else.

75% parents said that they don’t want their children bringing their devices to school. I agree with them and also think “NO” they shouldn’t! They said no because they were afraid of them losing them, stupid people stealing them or the devices getting broken.

Some believe that if they let other people use them they might play with them roughly or how you don’t want them played with. Like on Minecraft  you have to tap quite  hard and swipe a lot. I’m sure that IPOD’s would get lost quite quickly too because they are small and you usually take them everywhere.

Finally devices cost heaps of money. And lots of children lose things at school e.g: hat’s, jerseys, other clothes, drink bottles and much much more. So losing an electric device is going to cost a lot more like. Some kids may also just think it’s cool to have a device at school.

Therefor, BYOD should not be at school because it will cost parents heaps of money, they may lose them, people might play with them inappropriately and they can get stolen. I hope you come to the right decision to not have BYOD  at school.

THANKYOU

Kind regards
Paige
